Bad Luck (car stories)

August 10, 2008

Those of you that know me, know that I have a lot of bad luck. I don’t know where it comes from or how to stop it. It’s actually kinda funny I guess.

For example, every car that I get is a piece of junk. I used to think that I was picking bad cars, but this time I let my Dad and brother check this one out with me. Overall it’s been a good car, but now that it’s Summer, the a/c and the windows stopped working at the same time.

The car before that would randomly not work, and the only way I found to make the thing start was to hit the top of the engine with a baseball bat aka “The Persuader”. (I usually carry one in my car) Sometimes this would work. Other times I would be stranded.

The car before that… Well, the driver’s side front wheel actually fell off of that while I was driving it. Oh yeah, everything else broke on that too.

The car before this was a Green Geo Tracker. I liked this car a lot until the driver’s side door stopped working. It was pretty embarrassing going on a date when you had to climb over the passenger seat to get in the car. Oh, the driver’s side window was broken too.

The car, or should I say truck, that I had before that was the ugliest automobile on the face of the earth. Once, I was on the way home from work and the muffler fell off, and since it burned oil really badly, smoke was pouring out of my hood. It was kinda difficult to see. The windshield wipers didn’t work either… I had to use my hand. Seriously.

Wow, I kinda side-tracked there. I didn’t mean to complain about cars, I meant to complain about my bad luck in general. I have a lot more than car troubles. I may end up just posting a bad luck story every once in a while. None of this was very funny for me at the time it happened, but it makes me laugh to remember them now.

Finally, a post

August 2, 2008

Well, it’s almost 2:00 in the morning, and I am so freakin’ bored that I decided I would FINALLY update my wordpress. To be totally honest, I have nothing to say right now. Things have been kinda bad lately with work, family, and pretty much everything else. (My ac broke in my car and so did the windows!) I’m not posting a complaint or having a pity party. Nah, I’m actually in a good mood.

Updates and random thoughts:

1. I’m seriously considering moving to Atlanta. SOON.
2. I need to get back to work instead of killing time on WordPress.
3. I really want to record music and get back into writing it.
4. Why does it have to be so hot and humid where I live?
5. If gas weren’t so expensive, I would go for a long drive right now.
6. I need to finish shooting my slide film and my 120 film too… Maybe I should get my tripod and finish it up with some nice night photography.

A day in Manhattan

May 26, 2008

Well, I had a nice relaxed Sunday today… I had some of the best pizza ever, saw a movie, and spent the rest of the night in Times Square taking pictures. I kinda like New York. Where I’m from there’s nothing to do after 10:00 at night. Over here there’s always something going on. I could get used to this. The only problem with that is finding time to sleep.

Anyway, here’s a picture of me and some friends in Central Station.

AAAAAHHHHH!

May 25, 2008

So, we lost the competition in Atlanta. We lost by a lot. It was pretty bad. We had a good time though, and that’s what matters. On the way back we ran out of gas and had to walk several miles on the side of the highway to get more. The day turned out to be full of adventures.

Believe it or not I’m, in New York City now for some work related endeavors. Hopefully this will turn out to be a worth-while trip. I’ve got potential clients to meet with, so keep your fingers crossed.

Ideas

May 16, 2008

I can’t figure out why I always come up with the best ideas while I’m asleep. I just had the best idea ever for an internet based company and nobody’s doing it. I want to tell people about this wonderful idea, but I’m scared that somebody will try to do it before I can. I wonder if there’s a way to patent an idea for something like that. Well, as soon as I find out I’ll post more about it.

Finally…

May 15, 2008

It’s after five and I’m finally finished working. I think I’m gonna sleep pretty well tonight. I’ve been working on a website, logo, and everything else you can think of for a company called GDS
http://www.gdsintl.com/
I think that everything, more or less is turning out okay. We’ll see.

Hopefully I’ll get this completely done soon.

It’s funny… As much as I hate to work, it seems like that’s all I talk about anymore. I guess that it’s easy to get caught up thinking about stuff like that when it consumes most of your time though. Oh well, maybe next time I’ll have something exciting to post, but for now that’s it.

Anyway, I’m off to bed.

So, today I got an interesting phone call… I received a phone call informing me that I would be allowed to go to the roof of one of the tallest buildings in the city and take as many photographs as I wanted. This just goes to show you that it never hurts to ask. All I had to do was ask and, sure enough, within a week, I heard back from them.

The reason I wanted to take pictures from the top of this building was because I had two big projects that needed an overhead view of the city as a backdrop. As soon as I take the pictures, I’ll post them here. Check back soon!
